Overview

At The Green Hype, we were tasked with creating a captivating social media advertisement for Silk Chocolate, a renowned brand in India, especially during the Valentine's Day season. Our goal was to develop a 40-second ad that would resonate with chocolate lovers and Harry Potter fans alike. We envisioned a whimsical and nostalgic concept where a future version of Harry Potter discovers the joy of Silk Chocolate through the use of a spell, "Credulous Valentinium Silcium," to conjure the delectable treat for his beloved Ginny Weasley.


Challenges & Approach

This project presented us with several unique challenges. First, achieving the desired lighting aesthetic that captured the essence of the Harry Potter universe was crucial. We employed a combination of colored gels, soft lights, and digital lighting enhancements during post-production to create a warm and magical ambiance. Secondly, the visual effects (VFX) for the spell itself required meticulous attention to detail. We meticulously edited and composited footage of liquid metal, sparks, and lighting effects to bring the "Credulous Valentinium Silcium" spell to life with a captivating and realistic appearance. Finally, the generation of the Silk Chocolate itself posed a significant challenge. We employed stop-motion animation techniques to seamlessly depict the conjuring of the chocolate bar, ensuring a truly magical reveal.


The result

The "Credulous Valentinium Silcium" project was a resounding success, blending the nostalgia of the Harry Potter universe with the allure of Silk Chocolate's indulgent treats. We dedicated a week and a half to perfecting every aspect of the ad, from multiple camera angles to intricate sound design. The iconic "Double Trouble" song from the Harry Potter films served as the perfect auditory backdrop, further enhancing the enchanting experience. Targeting an audience of Harry Potter fans who grew up during the 2000s, this ad aimed to evoke a sense of nostalgia while introducing Silk Chocolate to a new generation of consumers. The meticulous attention to detail, innovative techniques, and creative storytelling resulted in a captivating ad that not only delighted viewers but also effectively showcased the irresistible allure of Silk Chocolate's offerings.
